STEVE EVANS
President/Principal Investigator
Steve is a Registered Professional Archaeologist with a BA from UT Austin and an MA from Sam Houston State. He has been working in the field of Cultural Resources Management since 2015. He has worked extensively in Texas, Oklahoma, and New Mexico on projects related to oil and gas, electrical transmission lines, and parks. Steve is passionate about the past and enjoys helping clients navigate the web of regulatory laws.
ZANE HOMESLEY
Goshawk Founder, Chief Experience Officer
Zane received an MS in wildlife science from New Mexico State University and has been working in environmental consulting since 1995. His experience includes threatened/endangered species and Waters of the US regulations and permitting. Zane's commitment to his clients inspired him to build Goshawk based on efficiency and reliability.
Valerie Werfel
Principal Investigator
Valerie has a BA in Anthropology from UT Austin and a MA in Cultural Resource Management from New Mexico Highlands University. She has extensive experience conducting archaeological work in Texas, New Mexico, Oklahoma, and Belize. She is a skilled archaeologist and project manager, with a passion for protecting cultural resources.
Nicole Pavlock
Environmental Specialist/Ecologist
Nicole received her BS from Texas State University in 2024. She is an ecology professional with a strong background in fieldwork, GIS, and technical report writing. She has experience working in the public sector contributing to community enhancement and resource management projects.
Andrew Beckert
Archaeologist
Andy received his BA from University of Colorado Boulder in 2024 and joined the Goshawk team shortly after. Andy is determined and dedicated to historic preservation and serving client needs.
Thomas Norris
Senior Ecologist
Thomas is a veteran who served four years active duty in the Army. He received his BS from Texas State University in 2023 and joined the Goshawk team shortly after. He has gained extensive experience preparing environmental assessments and conducting field surveys in Texas, New Mexico, and Oklahoma.
Heather Welsch
Environmental Specialist/Ecologist
Heather received her BS in Ecology and Conservation Biology from Texas A&M University in 2025. She is an ecologist and conservation biologist with experience as a wildlife and marine biologist. Her background includes field surveys, plant and animal identification, GIS, ecological monitoring, and compliance projects.
Siobhan Pritchett
Archaeologist/NEPA Specialist
Siobhan received her BS in Anthropology from Texas State University in 2019. She has worked extensively in Texas and New Mexico, and has developed skills in NEPA document preparation and project management.
Chelsea Norris
Senior Ecologist
Chelsea received her BS from University of Alaska Fairbanks in 2020. She has extensive experience working in National Parks and the Alaska Department of Natural Resources. She joined the Goshawk team in 2024. She is a skilled project manager and and passionate about her work.
Koleby Thomas
Archeologist
Koleby received his BA from Colorado Mesa University with a concentration in History and Archaeology. He has worked in the field of Cultural Resources Management since 2020. He has extensive archeological experience in the American Southwest.
Shelly Cooper
Editor/Office Administrator
Shelly retired from the US Army in 2018 and received her BA in Business Administration from the Southern New Hampshire University (SNHU) in 2023. Her background includes Talent Management, Human Resources, Environmental Compliance, and Administration. She has always been an advocate for natural resource protections both in and out of the military.
