Who Are We?
Goshawk
Environmental Consulting, Inc. incorporated in March 2005. Zane N. Homesley
founded the company after he had spent the previous 10+ years in the environmental
consulting business working for various private environmental and engineering
companies. Goshawk’s objective is to provide a variety of environmental
consulting services in a cost-effective and time-efficient manner, while
attempting to conserve the natural resources to the maximum extent practicable.
When impacts are necessitated by a project, Goshawk strives to meet the
needs of the client while keeping the proposed project in compliance with
federal, state, and/or local environmental regulations. Goshawk is fully-insured
under general liability, automobile liability, Errors and Omissions (E&O),
and workers’ compensation policies tailored to environmental consulting
services.
Goshawk is a small firm without all the huge overhead typically reflected on most invoices. This allows us to tailor our services to your needs. There is no minimum charge because we think there is no job too small, yet we can handle the most complex of situations too. You get personal service from someone who is a part of your team.
Why the Name “Goshawk”?
When Zane decided to start his consulting business, it was obvious that
his hobby of bird-watching would factor into the naming. Both of his
children have been named using “bird” terminology; his son
Talon and daughter Raven. So the business name had to stay within the
same theme.
Northern Goshawk (Accipiter gentilis) - Accipiter means “bird of
prey” and gentilis means “noble”. The goshawk is considered
to be one of the most acrobatic fliers and fiercest predators. It has been
described as fearless! Since Zane had to be fearless to drop his secure
job to pursue his dream and he believed his business should be conducted
in a noble fashion, the name of the business was established as Goshawk
Environmental Consulting, Inc.
